The bridge - everybody knows about it, nobody knows how it happened, and we wait to learn who we know by maybe a couple degrees of separation, because it is a small world in many ways. A coworker's son lives within a few blocks of the site. Unreal, for here at least.

Of course it was difficult to not watch the news unfold, by the minute over the internet. And wonder who was there, make calls, send e-mails to check.

Calm evening, cooler. Everyone out of the house for a while, just me and the fan noise. Sunny, sunny evening. The grass is quite brown.

We generally talk about the weather around here as a safe topic.

A while ago, the connector for cable on the 'tellie' broke off, and as it seemed too fiddly to repair, I finally bought a VCR/DVD unit that handles all the required connections in a different way. Not that I missed watching, because typically I don't. But others do, so it is in part to keep peace.

I appreciate you who visit and leave notes - quite a bit, really. Hope things are going well.

Hi Steve,
Glad to hear from you after so long.
Even hear your general chit-chat is great, just to know everything is ok with you and your family.
I'm busy writing short stories and working on an idea I have for a short novel.
My very best wishes to you and your family.

Hello Annie -
Glad you are able to focus on writing, you do have strengths worth bringing out and letting people hear.
Family all home tonight, it's been a busy few weeks of various trips but hopefully settles down as we head into the start of school.
Thanks and best wishes to your crew.

Thanks Annie, nice to hear from you. We have several here gearing up for the school year after a busy summer. It's been pretty good overall, thankful for that. Not so much writing for me except I have been doing some technical writing for work, which probably uses a different set of neurons, especially when slogging through multiple revisions as a deadline approaches. It all works together though.
