20070320

Home from performance (LA&TK), good sound and a friendly "crowd" - well, not a crowd exactly...but some people, which is fine for Tuesday evening.

Small dish of ice cream and off to bed. Pathetic post, I guess. But better than no post at all.

Hi Steve,
Just a short note. I'm so glad you had a great evening.
As for writing, I love writing it doesn't matter what. The more I do the better I become, hopefully :-)

I want to be the best. To be a great writer. Is that so bad to say it out loud.
Maybe I will never know, maybe I will never be happy with my work, always wanting to be better next time.
Are you like that with your music wanting to be that bit better next time?

Sorry must go now,, Just in the middle of cooking dinner

Love
Annie

Hello Annie,
Thanks for the short note.
Fine to say it out loud - especially when it's what you want so much to do. Yes, music is like that for me, always wanting to do better. There is still room to enjoy it, even with the missed parts. I think that is kind of important. My violin teacher would keep reminding me to breathe.:)

I hope dinner was good - somehow I've been eating pizza quite a bit lately.

Kind regards,
Steve

Hi Steve,
It's so nice to drop by for a chat.
My class last night left me wondering just what I have for a brain. Mr.C (do drop by my blog to read the details) leaves me wondering whether it is me who has the problem not him. Maybe I'm stupid and I have some crazy dream of being a writer, when it is so totally impossible. It's just his way of explaining things, because when I tell him what I think he is saying.. he smiles and says Yes that's right. Here is my simple terms example: Past Perfect, you use the word 'had'
Past Simple you use the word, 'Went'
My mother-in-law said she thought Mr.C classes had help me even if I didn't think they had.

What usually happens is when I get home from the classes. I get all my books out on English Grammar and read up what Mr.C had been talking about.
So is Mr.C helping or is it the books I read to make sense of what he has been talking about?

I hope this hasn't given you a headache :-)
best wishes
Annie

Hello Annie,
Happy to have your note. I'd guess that you're learning from the combination of a confusing class and the time spent studying...

I think it's probably pretty healthy to wonder about dreams...being a writer, musician, or other creative pursuits...sometimes the really good ones have really difficult lives, maybe are even good because of the difficulties. Dunno. But seems to be a common theme.

I appreciate you stopping by to share a few thoughts.

Steve
