20070121

Just back from playing a late evening gig. Tired but need to wind down a bit. Enjoy playing but not usually this late, especially when the audience has folks who have clearly had too much and can't walk straight. But I like the crew that I'm playing with.

Need to catch a few hours rest. Special family meal some time tomorrow, all together. P. got his hair cut tonight, getting it out of his eyes, his sisters couldn't stand it any more...:)

Hi Steve,
Annie here,
My scribbling pad is my main blog.
I've had five articles on family history published.
Have you looked at my 'Dead Men do Talk' blog?

Best wishes
Annie

Annie - hello - the 'Dead Men do Talk' site is a delight to read through, thinking about those people's lives. Very good on getting published!

Hello Annie -

At the moment, Minnesota looks very white, because there is a blizzard outside.

It's a reasonably good-sized state (12th largest in the US - here's a link ) There are some beautiful parts, especially the forests with lots of lakes in the north - makes for good camping trips in spring and fall(in the summer there are quite a few bugs).

I am not very published, as a poet anyway. Have been thinking it would be good to try someday.

Thanks for the note. I used to keep this blog up pretty regularly as a kind of daily update/log, should maybe do it some more. The past year has been particularly occupied with a career change, but one can only use that excuse for so long. :)

A writer must write and not make excuses.
May I drop by and chat with you?
Thank you for telling me what Minnesota is like. I live in a small village, surround by farmland. My friend and I go out walking every sunday early in the morning. There are woods and meadows and plenty to see.
Do you write full-time?
I have a full-time job working in a factory. At least it gives me time to think about writing. I make notes then when I come home I type it up. I'm working on a novelette at the moment.

Best wishes
Annie

Most welcome to stop by and chat (and right about writing).

The sunday morning walk sounds so pleasant.

I do have some affinity for England - was born there - it's nice to imagine the village and farmlands.

I'm not a full time writer, more a full time intellectual property scientist - which can involve writing, but it's fairly technical writing.

This comes after a career as a research chemist (pharmaceutical research).

It's great that you can think of things during the day, make notes and come home to write about them later. A novelette...good project, sounds manageable. Have you written them before?
